Eilean Darach Estate is situated in breathtaking west coast scenery in the Strath of Little Loch Broom and enjoys magnificent views to An Teallach and to the head of the Strath. The estate offers a mixture of exciting sporting opportunities over its 6,000 acres, including salmon fishing on the Gruinard River

The lodge has recently been fully and tastefully refurbished. There are 6 twin bedrooms and 1 double bedroom in the main house, plus 1 twin room with shower room off the house (ideal for cook). Downstairs, there are 2 living rooms, one with log fire, and a separate dining room. There are two bathroom/shower rooms upstairs and a shower room downstairs. There is also a separate w.c. downstairs. There is a housekeeper who cleans the public rooms and bedrooms every day. We can arrange for a cook if required.

The principal fishing is on the Gruinard river and consists of 2 beats of 3 rods each. There is also a boat on Loch na Sealga at the head of the river, and sea trout fishing on Loch Ghuibsachain. The Gruinard river is about 12 miles from the house and guests will require 4 wheel transport for use on the river track.

The Dundonnell river consists of 5 pools, all within short walking distance of the house. A ghillie is available for guests on the Gruinard river and Loch na Sealga. Guests can also fish Loch Coire Chacrachain, a 50 minute walk from the road.

The estate can offer some superb and challenging stalking for one rifle over the An Teallach range. This is over some of the most spectacular west coast scenery. Stalking guests should be reasonably fit as the ground rises from sea level to 3,000 feet.

This is a wonderful area for walking and bird watching. The beaches at Gruinard and Achiltibuie are quite beautiful and the famous Inverewe Gardens are nearby. Boat trips to the Summer Isles and the ferry to the Isle of Lewis leave daily from Ullapool. There is also a 9 hole golf course and a leisure centre with swimming pool at Ullapool.
