The South Esk is renowned for its sea trout, the best months being June & July. The Cortachy Fishings enjoyed an excellent July in 2009 with over 100 sea trout for the month.
There are also good run of salmon and grilse with the best months being April, May, September and October, the fishing ending on 31st October each year.
Fishing is by fly only. There is a full time ghillie, and a well appointed fishing hut.
