Fishing estate Inverinain Glen Lyon

Family fishing on the Lyon - Inverinain Estate

South Chesthill lies on the south side of Glen Lyon, the longest glen in Scotland and reputedly the most beautiful. Being in central Perthshire it offers an ideal base for exploring the central Highlands, being 14 miles from Aberfeldy, 20 miles from Pitlochry and within 2 hours of Edinburgh Airport.

Accommodation

Inverinain Lodge is a small traditional stone built Highland house set in a secluded situation on the south side of Glen Lyon facing north. It enjoys great privacy and wonderful views and overlooks its own fishing. The lodge has been extensively renovated and provides comfortable accommodation for 6-8 people in three twin bedrooms (two with basin) with bathroom, w.c, and separate w.c. Downstairs there is a well equipped kitchen/dining room leading into a sitting room with fireplace. Across the hallway is a second sitting room/study with sofa bed. There is a further shower room with w.c on the ground floor. Adjacent to the lodge is a steading which includes a garage, games room and space for dogs and storage.
The rent includes electricity and fuel; linen and towels are provided, and the telephone is billed retrospectively at the end of the tenancy.

Fishing

The fishing comprises 1½ miles of single bank fishing on the River Lyon, one of the main tributaries of the River Tay. The fishing included within the rental is for up to 4 salmon rods and for trout fishing. This beat fishes from May through to the end of the season on 15th October, both fly fishing and spinning are necessary, and has only lightly been fished in recent years. There are suitable picnic spots along the water and one or two boats; the estate keeper is available to show tenants the water although is not generally available on a daily basis. There is also excellent brown trout fishing on the beat with fish up to 2-3lbs.
