Lynaberack extends over some 12,000 acres of hill and moorland
lying south of Kingussie, on either side of the River Tromie, a
tributary of the Spey. This is an excellent all round sporting estate
offering red and roe stalking, walked-up grouse, shooting over
pointers, trout fishing and a first class lodge.
Lynaberack Lodge
is relatively modern and, built in a spectacular position, provides
immensely comfortable accommodation for up to 16 people in 12 bedrooms.
There is a large drawing room, dining room and excellent kitchen to
cater for such numbers. Apart from stalking and grouse shooting the
estate owns 2½ miles,
mostly both banks, of the River Tromie and 1 mile single bank of the
River Spey. The estate has fishing for both stocked and wild brown
trout on a number of lochs, with several boats.
During May and June there is some
excellent roe stalking with cottage
accommodation, trout fishing on rivers
and lochs, and rabbit shooting. Hind
stalking is also available from 21st
October through to February. However,
this excellent estate is best known for its
mixed sporting weeks which are available
from the start of the grouse season on 12th
August. During good years, the weekly
expectation on the basis of five days' sport
is from 50 to 100 brace, and both red and roe stalking as required.
These mixed grouse and stalking packages continue until mid-
September when the main stalking gets under way with 6-8 stags
being taken each week.
Lynaberack is accessible from all parts of the country and provides
an excellent opportunity to secure a tenancy on a wonderful sporting
estate with an exceedingly comfortable lodge.
