The Jagd & Hund International Hunting and Fishing Exhibition is widely regarded as the most popular of its kind in Europe with over 75,000 hunter and fisher visitors from all over Europe. This year’s exhibition took place during the first week of February 2009.

In conjunction with the Scottish Country Sports Tourism Group, and sponsored by Visit Scotland, CKD Galbraith were delighted to be represented by Robert Rattray, and Tim Kirkwood on the Scotland stand.

The Jagd and Hund Exhibition was a very worthwhile investment in time and money for us. With the Euro at an all time high against Sterling, European hunters are looking at effectively a 20% discount on their sport in Scotland this year.

We were hugely pleased with the response we had from a diverse range of Sportsmen from Germany, Austria, Hungary, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Poland & Czechoslovakia .

Stag stalking was the most popular request with Roe, Fallow and Sika stalking in close second. There were also a number of parties interested in both formal driven shooting and smaller walked up days. What was interesting was the number of small stalking groups – two to four sportsmen who are looking for quality stalking with smaller and less formal accommodation than those traditionally provided by Sporting Estates. We shall be looking closely at this market for the future.
