Perthshire, described by Sir Walter Scott as being the most varied and beautiful county, with gentle hills, high mountains, winding rivers and shimmering lochs, is at the heart of Scotland and is uniquely placed as a starting point for visiting and enjoying the rest of Scotland. Dunkeld is a cathedral town which has National Trust Little Houses, and besides the spectacular Falls of Dochart lies Killin close to Perthshire's highest mountain, Ben Lawers, and the wooded Pass of Killiecrankie, scene of the famous battle, and a breathtaking sight in Autumn.
