Biggest Scottish Salmon of 2013
7 Nov 2013It has been great to see that there has been a number of very big fish caught in Scotland this year. These fish are what fisherman dream of and they had become very rare. Due to an international conservation effort multi sea winter fish are staging a bit of a comeback. If Scotland continues or even in a worst case scenario increases its appalling netting effort and the Faeroe Islands resume commercial fishing then once again these fish will become great rarities. This, however, is a subject for another post. Here I have compiled an unofficial list of the biggest salmon that I am aware of. (Apologies to the Tay as I’m sure I’ve missed a few) It is fantastic to be able to list so many. Fish listed in descending length, all fish returned and weights estimated unless otherwise stated. The 3 weighed fish show how the shape not just the length can have a huge effect.
