Carron and Laggan Week 22 commencing Mon 7^th July 2014

Sporting Lets would like to draw your attention to an opportunity that has arisen at Carron and Laggan to rent the above week during the 2014 season. Carron and Laggan is ‘Middle Spey’ and located approximately 2 miles upstream of Aberlour in the vicinity of Wester Elchies, Kinermony and Delagyle. The two beats have a long standing arrangement whereby tenants alternate between Carron and Laggan during the course of the week. Both beats are double banked and fish 5 rods. Laggan is fished on a Monday, Wednesday & Friday and Carron on the Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

July should be a great month to be on the river although 2013 was a tough season with long periods of low water and bright sunshine. The 5 year average for the week is 9.8 and the 10 year average 15.7. It is worth noting that the previous tenant had a relaxed approach to his week on Speyside. Carron and Laggan boast the famous Bridge, Little and Big Griggle, Millionaires and Delchapel pools amongst others. Mike Murdoch, the ghillie, has been on the beats for circa 10 years and will be on hand throughout the week.

Included with the week is Laggan House set in a very private location overlooking one of the lower beat pools. It is a classic sporting lodge dating from 1861, refurbished in 2000, and has 5 double and 5 single bedrooms. It is let on a self catering basis but inclusive of the rent are the services of 2 housekeepers who each come in for three hours a day.
