Looking forwards to the 2015 grouse season

15 Jul 2015

We are now just under a month away from the start of the season and as the days pass more and more keepers are getting a better understanding of how the breeding season has panned out. I think it would be fair to say that the mood across the country is not consistent and is either one of strong optimism or mild concern. The huge stock of birds left at the end of the 2014 season will more than compensate for any issues caused by the weather on some moors whilst on others the long cold spring may well have had more of an impact. Covey sizes are certainly more mixed than the universally strong numbers reported in 2014 and location will be everything so please do get in contact for availability. We have September days, and it is worth noting that the season is likely to be a little late this year, where the keepers are hugely optimistic about the coming season.
