A day late on the posting but the Tay opened its doors yesterday and it is always a great moment in the sporting year. The various openings up and down the river were well attended and it is great that the spotlight shines, albeit briefly, on the river. Leading from the front at Meikleour this year were @marinagibsonfishing who made the 1st cast and presented the Malloch trophy and @londonflyfisher . Big enthusiasm all round, great to see, and well done the @meikleour_salmon_fishing team ! Fishing was tough as the river had risen 3ft overnight which was not what the doctor ordered and the main river drew a blank. The river will be better today, and quieter, so there should be a couple off today but if you are out wrap up warm. Fingers crossed for a great year on the Tay. Get out there!
