Dorback Estate is a classic mixed sporting estate lying in the heart of beautiful Speyside. Extending to over 18,000 acres, the land stretches from the low ground at Nethy Bridge to the spectacular high ground on the edge of the Cairngorm Massif.

Embracing both high and low ground heather moors, Dorback has an enviable reputation for both driven and walked up grouse shooting. It has some of the highest driving ground in the country and some of the most exhilarating shooting.  The Estate is well butted and roaded and now includes an outstanding lunch hut at Fae Bothy, and two other lunch huts on separate beats. The experienced keepering team provide an enjoyable and relaxed but well organised day’s sport. Argo transport to the butt’s can be arranged if required.

Grouse numbers continue to improve with excellent covey sizes and a good density of birds throughout the estate.  As a result, continued investment on the grouse moor is paying dividends, with improving numbers on all beats.

Dorback offers some high quality sporting pheasant shooting on the low ground, being a mix of Birch and Caledonian Pine.  Driving birds from the fringes of the Estate’s grouse moor and with skilful use of deep gullies and sandy knolls, the dedicated sporting team are able to present visiting guns with hardy, testing birds.

In addition to the shooting, the Estate offers red deer stalking for one or two rifles in October, and there may be an opportunity for some early season roe deer.

Mixed Shooting/Stalking
A limited opportunity for small parties to sample a variety of sport on the estate from late season walked up grouse to rough shooting, to be taken in conjunction with estate accommodation.
