Kinloch is situated on the north coast of Scotland in a stunning wilderness setting and it is the current centrepiece of Wildland’s northern operation. The Lodge has been recently refurbished and inspiration has been drawn from the landscape, from Scotland’s history and from the owners Scandinavian heritage. The same connection applies to the land under the Wildlands stewardship and a deep love of nature, of trees and of regeneration and of quiet but joyful life drives the owners. Kinloch is the oasis they have created and it is the well from which tired souls can draw strength from the beauty of the wilderness. It is a very special, luxurious place.

Whilst there is a great deal more to any break at Kinloch than pure sport is has unrivalled opportunities for the enthusiast.

Fishing
Wildlands own the whole of the Hope and Kinloch river systems and guests have their exclusive use. The Kinloch is an intimate spate river and in the right conditions provides exhilarating sport for 3 rods with grilse, seatrout and the salmon. The Hope is one of Scotland’s jewels and sea trout drift in and out on the tide, grilse pack the pools and increasing numbers of salmon jostle for position. It offers 3 rods superb fishing. Given water, the first few fish will ascend the rivers in May and runs, dependent on water, build through the summer.  In periods of low water the tidal pools provide frenetic and unique sport. Standing amongst the bladder wrack, with oyster catchers watching on as the grilse and sea trout advance towards you on a rising tide is a magical experience.

There is also fishing on both Loch Hope, mainland Scotland’s foremost sea-trout loch and on a myriad of brown trout lochs. Some of the lochs are very fertile and ‘glass casers’ are present to surprise the unwary.

Stalking
Kinloch also offers exciting stalking and a number of days on the hill can be offered to tenants in August, September and October. It is challenging stalking and this is how it should be and a successful day on the hill is a success to be celebrated not taken for granted.

In 2018, excitingly, there is also a sea boat which will allow guests to explore the coast line, uninhabited islands and wild beaches.

Kinloch is a much loved traditional sporting lodge that has recently been refurbished to an exceptional standard. An air of peaceful calm pervades the lodge and it sleeps a total of 14 in great comfort. There are 3 x twin/double zip link bedrooms, 2 x double bedrooms and 2  x twin bedrooms.  One part of the attraction of Kinloch is the catering and it is the fruits of the surrounding land and sea that are the star attractions.
