Summerhill House - Estate Info

Summerhill has one of the finest locations in the Tay valley. The House sits within its own beautiful private grounds on a bluff immediately above the river Tay and it has splendid river views. Salmon can be observed jumping from the veranda and there is no better place to stay on the river.

The House is located on the edge of the village of Stanley and is just 7 miles from Perth and 10 miles from Dunkeld.

Summerhill House - Sport

The proprietor of Summerhill House has built a portfolio of weekly Tay fishing’s from early spring right through to the close of the season. There are weeks available on Stobhall, Taymount, Upper Scone, Murthly, Ballathie and Lower Redgorton. The different beats offer a very significant mix of fishing for 3, 4 or 6 rods. As the fishing is different in each week please be in contact for further information on the weekly options.

The Tay is a large river and in recent years this has been a considerable blessing as, whilst other rivers have suffered with low flows, the Tay is always fishable and summer fishing has been excellent. The Tay offers superb fly fishing but there are also sections of pools and beats which are best tackled with a spinning rod. All of the beats have excellent access, professional and friendly ghillies, boats and excellent huts.

In nearly all cases it is a requirement to take the House and fishing together.
