Scottish Grouse Season: First Impressions of Robert Rattray
21 Aug 2013With the 2013 grouse season now just over a week old, we thought we’d get our very own Robert Rattray to give us his thoughts on how the first week went, and which estates he was especially pleased with.
The grouse season started with a real bang last Monday, and after the first few days of shooting, our prediction seems to have been endorsed.
Those moors who shot in the first few days of the season saw a mix of well grown birds and smaller birds which will be at their best in September and October.
Dorback had a great start with excellent brood sizes seen on most areas of the estate. The driving season commences in earnest on 22nd August.
The Lammermuirs have had on of their best starts in many years, with reports of days between 200 and 300+ brace days.
We still have spaces left throughout the season. To check our availability, please call us on: 01738 451600, or drop us an email. We look forward to hearing from you
