Further afield Edinburgh is only fifty miles away and there is an enormous amount of activities for non fishers to try and pack into a week.

The River Tay is one of Scotland’s salmon fishing jewels and fresh fish are present from the opening day on the 15th Jan right through to the close of the season. The strength of the runs of fish vary from year to year but the Tay has performed strongly in comparison to many Scottish rivers and the river boasts some of Scotland’s most productive beats.

The proprietor of Summerhill House has built a portfolio of weekly fishing’s from early spring right through to the close of the season. The names of the beats Stobhall, Upper Scone, Murthly, Taymount, Ballathie etc need no introduction and the weeks take in some of the prime periods of the season.

In nearly all cases it is a requirement to take the House and fishing together.
